Meet Your Coaches
Melissa Nacy, Head coach
Hello! My name is Melissa Nacy and I am the Head Coach of the Birmingham Seaholm Cheerleading Team. The girls call me Coach Mel. This is my 6th year coaching at Seaholm. I started my coaching career while in high school, working with my own alma mater, Eastland Elementary! I cheered for Roseville High School, where we were State Runner Ups in 2005! During college, I was a staff member for North American Spirit.
As I coach, I aim to develop athletes into leaders who understand the value of hard work, commitment and challenging themselves everyday. I do my best to instill these core values into every athlete I come in contact with:
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan - Go Blue! I am a Team Leader of a software development team for Title Source in Downtown Detroit. I currently live in Royal Oak with my husband, Jon, and our yellow lab, Charlie.
Good things come to those who go out and earn them.
The world bursts at the seams with people ready to tell you you're not good enough. On occasion, some may be correct. But do not do their work for them. Seek any job; ask anyone out; pursue any goal. Don't take it personally when they say 'no' — they may not be smart enough to say 'yes.” (Keith Olbermann)

- Everything begins and ends with your mindset
- Be obsessed with the process of being great
- Believe in your teammates and believe in yourself. Lead your teammates and lead yourself.

dANIELLE BEAUREGARD, ASSISTANT COACH
Hi! My name is Danielle Beauregard and I am the assistant coach of Seaholm Varsity Cheerleading. The girls call me Coach Dani and this is my first year coaching at Seaholm!
I began cheerleading in elementary school and was a Troy Cowboy cheerleader for five years. While attending Seaholm High School, I helped start the cheerleading program and cheered on the team for all four years.
I previously coached the Birmingham Patriots Youth Cheerleading Team and absolutely loved it!
I currently live in Troy with my family and attend Oakland Community College; I am majoring in Early Childhood Education and plan on being a teacher after I graduate. When I have free time, I love to swim and be with my family.
I am extremely excited for this upcoming season! As a coach, I believe that "if someone tells you, you can't then you have to". Watching this program continue to grow brings me so much joy.

Alexis Bommarito, previous assistant coach 2014-16
Hello! My name is Alexis Bommarito and I am the Head Co-Coach of Seaholm Cheerleading! This is my 2nd year coaching at Seaholm.
I began my cheerleading career as a young girl and continued until I graduated from Auburn Hills Avondale High School. I was a 4 Year Varsity Sideline & Competitive Cheerleader. At Avondale, I was honored to be the team captain for 3 years and an All District, All League and a Regional athlete. We were the Oakland Activity Association's Blue League Champions in 2013 and 2010. I currently live in Rochester Hills, with my puppy Cali! I attend Wayne State University where I am studying Business Advertising & Marketing. When I get free time from cheerleading I enjoy to write and travel! As a coach, I believe that athletes are made on the mats, in the classroom, and at home! Along with the simple fact that: anyone can be anything they want with hard work and a positive attitude! jennifer szura, founder and previous coach, 2010-2014 |
Coach Szura, along with a group of dedicated young women, re-established the Cheerleading Program at Seaholm High School in the Winter of 2010. The program has since grown from a group of nine girls cheering on the sidelines of basketball games to be a program that boasts seasons with over 30 girls, multiple team levels (Middle School, JV & Varsity), and a registered MHSAA competitive team.
Coach Szura was a sideline and competitive cheerleader for 10 years in her youth and believes that anyone can cheer if they are willing to work hard enough. She is proud to coach a program that encourages young women to challenge themselves athletically, that promotes a strong academic performance, that celebrates each and every success with enthusiasm, that provides encouragement during times of struggle, and that provides an opportunity for adolescents to build friendships that will last a lifetime. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Madonna University and works in the Birmingham Public Schools Community Education Department. |
